After yesterday’s unit monitor from members Changbin and I.N, Han and Felix are subsequent on the docket with a music video for his or her entry from Stray Youngsters’ new mixtape. We’re transferring from rock depth to a hard-hitting mix of EDM and hip-hop.
After a moody, ornate opening, Truman‘s beat pushes us into an off-kilter sonic panorama. Thick waves of synth battle it out with heavy lure beats. On a purely technical degree, I can respect what this manufacturing is doing. It definitely paints a vibe, without delay prickly and suffocating. However on a private degree, this isn’t a sound I get pleasure from in any respect. It’s nearly designed to repel me, from the way in which the tempo drags with a heavy lurch to the shout-rap type of the efficiency. It’s all very severe and I simply don’t have the buy-in essential to embrace the self-esteem.
With that stated, I can think about how Truman will resonate with its target market. Felix and Han are each expert and charismatic, even when the music itself isn’t giving them a lot to work with. And despite the fact that many of the monitor sends my finger racing towards the “off” button, its commanding synth spine affords compelling texture.
