Mass Enchantment Settles Discrimination Lawsuit With White Lady

Nas’ document label and media firm, Mass Enchantment, has reached a settlement with a white former government who claimed that she was discriminated towards and compelled to go away the corporate as a result of she’s white.

Mass Enchantment filed a joint movement with its former head of improvement, Melissa Cooper, in federal courtroom on Friday (June 13), agreeing to dismiss the case fully. Court docket filings present that Mass Enchantment and Cooper have reached a settlement, though the phrases of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Cooper sued Mass Enchantment, CEO Peter Bittenbender and the corporate’s former content material chief, Jenya Meggs, in 2023, claiming she was the topic of a “racist conspiracy” on the firm. Nas will not be individually named as a defendant within the lawsuit.

Cooper is white. Meggs is Black. Cooper was finally fired from Mass Enchantment in June 2023.

After her termination, a messy former lover of Meggs reached out to Cooper to share textual content messages during which Meggs reportedly referred to Cooper as a “cracker” and criticized “white folks.”

Cooper claimed in her lawsuit that she introduced the messages to Bittenbender, however he paid them no thoughts. Cooper wished to be reinstated to Mass Enchantment and given cash for damages for the alleged racism she endured. 

Mass Enchantment, Bittenbender and Meggs not solely deny the claims of discrimination, however they “vigorously” deny any claims made by Cooper and declare that she was fired as a result of her division hadn’t bought any initiatives. Meggs reportedly left Mass Enchantment in 2024.
