Fever (from Fever Season – 2019)
What I mentioned then: “There are moments when the music needs to take off (particularly the breathless, synth-dripped pre-chorus), however like so many tracks of this type, Fever continually has to work its method again to its non-starter hook/drop combo.” (learn full evaluation)
Up to date ideas: I used to be desperate to revisit this one as a result of it’s not a GFriend music (or album) I hearken to typically and I keep in mind disliking it when it got here out. However as with the tropical development general, this sounds a lot better to my 2024 ears. I miss these explicit synth textures and despite the fact that Fever climaxes in an overused instrumental drop, it’s a satisfying summer season sound that crests with optimistic power. I really like this fairly a bit now, although it’s not a mode I affiliate with GFriend in any respect.
