Higher Me (Sowon & Umji) (from Walpurgis Evening – 2020)
For his or her remaining album, the group recorded tracks as items. Higher Me sees Sowon and Umji taking a way more hip-hop influenced strategy, which is cool but in addition an odd match for a GFriend tune. I don’t dislike this, however apparently it might have come from lots of their friends. The manufacturing is a bit boring other than some cool filtered background vocals and the melodies don’t hit as onerous as I’d like them to. Sowon and Umji’s vocals mix very properly, although.
