New & Noteworthy J-pop of the Week (September 15, 2024)

New and Noteworthy J-popIn reference to my want to totally sustain with the J-pop trade, I’m planning on doing a weekly round-up of any new releases which have caught my ear. A few of these might have been lined on the weblog already, however my hope is that this can turn out to be a one-stop store for anybody focused on what’s new in J-pop.

With that in thoughts, right here’s the place you are available: I’m one particular person with one set of musical preferences, so please embed another new J-pop tracks you’ve loved within the feedback so we will get a fuller spectrum every week.

*And similar to I do with my opinions, I’ll wait till full variations of songs can be found earlier than posting them on this round-up. This may largely apply to Johnny’s teams, who nonetheless restrict the vast majority of their YouTube uploads to shorter, edited variations.

(Alexandros) – Boy Fearless

That is very 90’s. I like the combination of rap and rock. The refrain is particularly good.

CNBLUE – Jinsei Sanka

CNBLUE has lengthy since crossed over into “grownup modern” territory for me.

DÉ DÉ MOUSE & Milk Speak – Lovely Legal (track of the week!)

So retro! I recognize the chilliness, funky vitality and people crystalline synths are beautiful.

Haru Nemuri & Frost Kids – Daijoubu Desu

The punky vitality and jagged electronics are fairly enjoyable.

Hey! Mommy! – Tremendous Mommy Women

That is simply too unusual to not share. (It’s type of addicting, although…)

HiiT Manufacturing unit – Loopy Extra Unusual (track of the week!)

Their new EP is de facto enjoyable and it is a very convincing TRF-style throwback.

HYDE – Final Track

I haven’t listened to HYDE’s new album but however I’ve loved the singles thus far. This one’s rather more reserved.

JO1 – Have been Do We Go

A strong late-summer pop monitor. They’ve had stronger, they’ve had worse. The vocals are a spotlight. The refrain will not be.

Noisemaker – Exist

I wrote about this one earlier than however now it has a music video.

SG – Lucid Dream

A pleasant rock monitor.

SUPER★DRAGON – Downforce

I discover this group soooo hit and miss. This incorporates each extremes in a single bundle. I recognize what it’s attempting to do, however there’s too little track to go together with the cool manufacturing.

TRAell – Area Dance

A pleasant little bit of digital indie rock.

Yojiro Noda – Ache Killer

Not essentially what I’d count on from the singer of Radwimps, however I just like the lo-fi digital sound.

L’Arc~en~Ciel – Lies and Reality (1996)

Since I’ve acquired frontman HYDE featured as a part of this week’s round-up, how about some basic 90’s rock courtesy of his band L’Arc~en~Ciel? They’ve plenty of incredible tracks, however it is a private favourite from their early years.
