Only a few songs into their profession, Catch The Younger have displayed a sonic versatility. Their music has a ton of potential, however typically feels undercut by restricted ambition and hesitant execution. Watching the teasers for Dream It, I hoped the group would return to the 80’s cheese of their debut. Sadly, that decade seems to be extra of a visible aesthetic than a driving power behind the music.
On the plus aspect, Catch The Younger really feel extra polished with every launch. This was my main fear again when Youth!! stumbled awkwardly out of the gate. However as their ability has improved, the music has gotten duller. Dream It desires to be a singalong anthem however struggles to seize the vitality (or hooks) wanted for that want. As a substitute, the track passes by amiably with out leaving a lot of an impression in any respect. It’s a disgrace, as a result of I’m digging using keytar — an underrated instrument if ever there was one!
