LL COOL J is a first-ballot Hip-Hop Corridor of Famer and his profession is way from over with the approaching launch of The FORCE album in September of this 12 months. In a latest interview, the GOAT himself reacted to Hip-Hop Wired‘s Rap Battles That Shifted Hip-Hop Tradition cowl story and likewise revealed his favourite battles of all time.
LL COOL J, 54, sat down with the Hip-Hop Wired crew and gave his ideas on our latest cowl story detailing the historic beefs and back-and-forths which have remodeled the very panorama of the tradition. The Queens native, clearly a historian of Hip-Hop and 4 many years in, shared his response to the Rap Battles That Shifted Hip-Hop Tradition that includes cowl artwork by the legendary André LeRoy “A.L. Dre” Davis whereas including his ideas on Hip-Hop’s biggest battles.
“I believe that they’re all totally different,” LL started. “Battles pre-Web and post-Web, the world is gonna know extra about them. I loved the Nas and Jay [JAY-Z] battle on one degree, however clearly, you didn’t have a lot of that social media amplification.”
Persevering with his statement, LL added, “The one factor I’d say in regards to the Kendrick [Lamar] and Drake battle was that it bought the good thing about all of social media. It was layered past the music within the music in a distinct. Related option to 50 [Cent] and Ja [Rule] besides there is a bit more social media 1721228075 than even because it was again then.”
LL was then requested about his favourite battles of all time. Naturally, the battle-tested LL COOL J named himself and all of the battles that he emerged victorious in. Can’t argue with that.
